The Big Bossa was my brother and I first opportunity to have a commercial record, Our friend Steven Haliday was setting up a UK label and offered us the first  release, that turned out to be 12” Catford Classics Vol 1 and shortly followed by Vol2 . Uk radio received the Big Bossa sound with open arms and we got some great radio including BBC Radio One Gilles Peterson, Kiss Fm Patric Forge etc….With the two 12” behind us the logical thing was to follow up with an album, so that was when Badalona was born. We named it after one of the lesser known hoods around BCN. To our English ears Badalona had a nice ring to it. We later found out it’s not really rated as one of the nicest areas but what you going to do.
